The need to provide hygienic, safe and environmentally friendly packaging, while ensuring optimum freshness for our products is a challenge. We choose clear poly bags to offer customers the ability to see the product they are buying. These bags are recyclable in most municipal programs. Choosing petroleum-based poly bags is a deliberate, considered decision. Bags manufactured from soy or corn are marketed as being compostable or biodegradable and therefore green. However the food crops grown for this purpose are farmed with the use of many chemicals, as well as being genetically modified (GMO) varieties.
